On Dec. 5 the Metropolitan Opera will continue its Facebook Live series with Piotr Beczala at 2:30pm.

The Polish tenor will answer questions about his current role, Rodolfo, in Puccini’s “La Boheme.” Questions will come from audiences và fans through Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. This segment will have a chất lượng twist with Beczala taking audiences on a tour through the Met’s archives, costumes and more so they can learn more about Puccini’s famed opera, which premiered with the Met in 1900.
The Metropolitan Opera began its Facebook Live events two weeks ago with Anna Netrebko, who answered questions about Puccini’s “Manon Lescaut.” Last week, audiences got a chance to lớn chat with Patricia Racette, who is scheduled to make her Met role debut as Strauss’ “Salome.”
Beczala made his Met debut in 2006 in the role of Il Duca in Verdi’s “Rigoletto.” Since then he has become a major star with the company & has sung many leading roles. Some of the notable roles include Count Tristan Vaudémont in Tchaikovsky’s “Iolanta,” Gustavo III in Verdi’s “Un Ballo in Maschera,” Lenski in Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” and Romeo in Gounod’s “Roméo et Juliette.” The tenor recently thanh lịch the title role in Wagner’s “Lohengrin” in Dresden and is later scheduled to sing the title role in Massenet’s “Werther” in Barcelona. He is an exclusive artist with Deutsche Grammophon.

“La Boheme” is the most performed work at the Metropolitan Opera. Since its premiere, the work has been performed 1295 times. The current Franco Zeffirelli production premiered in 1982 with Teresa Stratas, Jose Carreras và Renata Scotto. Since then the production has been sung by Angela Gheorghiu, who made her Met debut in the production, Anna Netrebko, Rolando Villain, Kristine Opolais, Catherine Malfitano, Neil Shicoff, Ramon Vargas, Vittorio Grigolo and Roberto Alagna.
